FBI Investigates Possible Threats Directed at House Democrats

FBI Investigates Possible Threats Directed at House Democrats

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010...use-democrats/

Quote:
More than 10 lawmakers have complained they've received threats since the run-up to Sunday's House vote on a health insurance overhaul, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said Wednesday, and law enforcement officials are taking the allegations seriously.
Federal law enforcement officials are investigating at least two possible threats directed at members of Congress and their families that Democrats suggest are related to their vote for health care reform. Plus the office of Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Mich. -- who initially opposed the Senate's health bill over concerns about abortion funding but switched to support the plan following assurance from the White House -- has received several threatening messages, recordings of which have been obtained by Fox News.
First, let me be very specific in my words here. I do not approve of violence, vandalism or threats. Directed at congress, the President, or their families.

That said, I can understand the frustration many feel as of late, a frustration that is growing as the divide between government and the people widens.

Understand, if you threaten these people, you -will- be investigated. Understand that the Secret Service, the FBI and the Capital Police are not slouches when it comes to their jobs, and they will put maximum effort into these investigations.

With all that said however, I feel that I must say, if any lawmaker is currently a little afraid, then Good.
When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.
Thomas Jefferson
They should fear for their jobs, their elite status, their special privilege, and their perks. It's not the time for them to fear for their lives. As I've said before, bombard them with letters, emails, phone calls. Protest, peacefully, outside their offices. Show up at their rally's and peacefully protest. Support their opponents who hold your views as important, who will need your time, your money, your efforts and your votes. Government in the US changes at the voting booth, not the battle field.

Area Man Passionate Defender Of What He Imagines Constitution To Be

Area Man Passionate Defender Of What He Imagines Constitution To Be

Quote:
Area Man Passionate Defender Of What He Imagines Constitution To Be

ESCONDIDO, CA—Spurred by an administration he believes to be guilty of numerous transgressions, self-described American patriot Kyle Mortensen, 47, is a vehement defender of ideas he seems to think are enshrined in the U.S. Constitution and principles that brave men have fought and died for solely in his head.

"Our very way of life is under siege," said Mortensen, whose understanding of the Constitution derives not from a close reading of the document but from talk-show pundits, books by television personalities, and the limitless expanse of his own colorful imagination. "It's time for true Americans to stand up and protect the values that make us who we are."

According to Mortensen—an otherwise mild-mannered husband, father, and small-business owner—the most serious threat to his fanciful version of the 222-year-old Constitution is the attempt by far-left "traitors" to strip it of its religious foundation.

"Right there in the preamble, the authors make their priorities clear: 'one nation under God,'" said Mortensen, attributing to the Constitution a line from the Pledge of Allegiance, which itself did not include any reference to a deity until 1954. "Well, there's a reason they put that right at the top."

Before anyone asks, yes I read the Constitution, several times, and no, "Bob Hubbard" is not an alias for Kyle Mortensen.

Bob,
You might want to consider educating yourself on something before you insert foot in mouth. Then again, why start now? Comments like this make me ashamed to have supported your 2008 presidential run.

Should The U.S. Impose Limits On Incredibly Stupid ****?

Should The U.S. Impose Limits On Incredibly Stupid ****?

Quote:
WASHINGTON, DC—With national stupid-**** consumption at an all-time high and federal **** projections indicating sharply rising levels of stupidity over the next decade and a half, a small but vocal group of lobbyists has revived an old debate on Capitol Hill, calling for strict, federally mandated limits on incredibly stupid ****.

Though every previous congressional effort to curb incredibly stupid **** has met with failure, the sheer size of the current U.S. **** industry, combined with the unmitigated stupidity of most of the **** it produces, has once again raised the question: Should the U.S. impose limits on incredibly stupid ****?

"The manufacture, marketing and distribution of stupid, worthless **** is an unfortunate but unavoidable reality of any modern industrialized nation. Nonetheless, the problem has gotten way out of hand here in America," said C. Brian Mattson, a member of the Commerce Department's Advisory Board On Stupid, Really Stupid & Incredibly Stupid ****, testifying before Congress Monday. "The time has come to face facts: Without some sort of cap on America's unchecked stupid-**** production, we face a crisis of diminished intelligence within the national discourse that threatens to bury our society under a tidal wave of crap the likes of which the world has never seen."

I feel safer already knowing these true professionals, these credits to the honored field of law enforcement, these bastions of integrity, these guardians of our safety are on the job and protecting us from old people, gay men and Jimmy Walker.

Naw.

I've got respect for the real cops, not these police academy washouts who couldn't find a bomber if they were told 6 months in advance, had a picture of him and a description on where he'd shoved the grenade.
Here's some examples of the KeyStone Kops who "protect" our airports.
